Europe’s CSR priorities
A European business network which shares best practice on corporate social responsibility is calling for more enterprises across the continent to invest in urban sustainable development and skills. CSR Europe is currently running two campaigns: ‘Sustainable Living in Cities’ and ‘Skills for Jobs’.
It sees cities as opportunities for organisations to innovate and develop new solutions to environmental problems. The priority areas for this campaign are inclusive business models, healthy lifestyles and a European ‘social intrapreneurship’ programme i.e. supporting employees whose attitudes resemble those of entrepreneurs whilst working within large organisations.
The aim of the skills campaign is to make Europe the best place to work through improving the links between the business and education sectors and increasing employability across all stages of an employee’s life.
A range of best practice reports from the organisation and its members is available online at www.csreurope.org and opportunities for internships at its Brussels headquarters are also available.
